The course content of the Medical Radiography program at BCIT is delivered via traditional face-to-face instruction. This project investigated the possibility of altering the current model of instruction in order to suit the changing profile of the 21 st century learner. Using a mixed-method approach that is principally qualitative but also quantitative, this action research project engaged Medical Radiography students from BCIT and administrators from other programs in Canada. The project methodology was comprised of interviews, surveys, and focus group discussions. Results indicated a need to provide alternative delivery options for course delivery in order to address the needs and preferences of all learners. Recommendations further included consultation of all stakeholders prior to program modification as well as suggestions for instructional delivery models.
