Annual Drawing FAQ

How are the proceeds from my ticket purchase used?

This year the Foundation will provide more than $200,000 in scholarships and grants to professionals and students who need a helping hand to achieve their educational and professional goals. Because ASRT membership dues do not directly fund these programs, the Foundation must gain support through fundraising activities such as the Annual Drawing.

Is my ticket purchase tax deductible?

Although most contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible, the purchase of Annual Drawing tickets is not tax deductible per IRS regulations because the prizes are of significant value.

When is the last day to purchase tickets?

Tickets will be available for purchase from Feb. 19 to May 31, 2018. Ticket sales will close at 11:59 p.m. Mountain time on May 31. Any tickets purchased after this time will not be entered into the drawing, and the full amount will be refunded.

How are the winners chosen?

Winning ticket numbers will be randomly drawn in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 8, 2018. Winners will be notified by phone or e-mail immediately after the drawing.

When will the winners be announced?

Winning ticket numbers will be posted online by June 13, 2017. Winners' names will be published by Aug. 1, 2018.

How do I claim my prize?

Winning ticket holders will be contacted by the ASRT Foundation. If you are the purchaser of a winning ticket, you will be required to complete and return release and acknowledgement forms within 30 days.

If I win the grand prize, how do I make my travel arrangements?

Arrangements will need to be made through the ASRT Foundation. Travel must be booked at least 60 days prior to the departure date and completed between Oct. 1, 2018, and Aug. 31, 2019.

What are my chances of winning?

Chances of winning are based upon the total number of tickets sold. Ticket sales are limited to ASRT members. Last year only 1,034 people participated, which means great odds for you!
