For the 10th year in a row, ASRT Foundation donors are helping to strengthen the profession through international collaboration, specifically through the International Speakers Exchange Award program.

The program, supported by donor contributions, provides an opportunity for ASRT members to share their knowledge and expertise with their counterparts in other countries and to bring back knowledge to share with their departments and fellow ASRT members.

Thousands of medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals gather together at these conferences every year to share best practices, the latest research results and trends in the industry with others in the profession. Every year, two ASRT members are selected to present at international conferences.

From this year's qualified applicants, the Foundation is excited to announce that Robert D. Adams, Ed.D., R.T.(R)(T), CMD, and Nicole B. Dhanraj, Ph.D., R.T.(R)(CT)(MR), have been selected by the conference committees to be this year’s recipients. Both will be presenting this June.

Mr. Adams is presenting at the United Kingdom Radiological Congress in Liverpool, England. His presentation, “Engineering Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Program in a Radiation Oncology Department: A Journey Towards High Reliability, Validity and Safety Mindfulness,” focuses on embedded errors in radiation therapy clinical practice.

At the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists Annual General Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Ms. Dhanrajs’ presentation, “The Big and Small Issues of the Disproportionate Patient: Technical and Safety Challenges in Radiology,” will focus on patient challenges.

Please join us in congratulating Mr. Adams and Ms. Dhanraj for receiving this award. We look forward to sharing with other ASRT members the knowledge they will  bring back. This valuable educational opportunity is available because of the dedication and support of Foundation donors.

Programs like the International Speakers Exchange Award allow for best practices and the newest information in the profession to have a larger impact by reaching more R.T.s. This helps create a brighter future for medical imaging technologists and radiation therapists around the world. Our donors are committed to improving and strengthening the R.T. community.

Donate to the Foundation today to ensure that these meaningful programs continue to be available for professionals.
