When the medical imaging and radiation therapy community comes together, the results are truly inspiring. One of the great things about the R.T. community is our commitment to the profession and each other. The ASRT Foundation’s Positioning for a Brighter Tomorrow Celebration Campaign showcased how much we care about our profession and the people in it.

The campaign launched in June 2014 to create an operating endowment to ensure that the Foundation will be around to provide career enhancement through fellowships, scholarships, and grants for medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals and students for years to come. We started off with a goal of raising $3 million, but support for the profession came in from all corners of our community and shattered that goal. When the campaign wrapped up at the ASRT Annual Governance and House of Delegates meeting in Las Vegas this past June, donors had pledged more than $4 million.

I want to thank everyone who donated to the campaign and the future of the profession. It was your support that made the campaign a huge success. I hope you’re proud to know that you’re helping to create a bright future for medical imaging and radiation therapy students and professionals around the world.

Whether your gift created a new scholarship, grant or fellowship opportunity, named or sponsored a space in the ASRT office or bought a tile on the permanent donor wall display near the ASRT Museum and Archives, your generous support is felt around the ASRT office and has had a positive effect on the medical imaging and radiation therapy profession. Although ASRT Foundation activities for this campaign have ended, I want to let the passionate members of our community who didn't have the opportunity to donate to the campaign know that giving opportunities are still available.

As a campaign donor, I’m thrilled to be part of such a caring group of individuals who share the same vision for the future of the radiologic sciences. If you’re interested in having your name added to the donor wall, creating a named program award or sponsoring a space, you can still do so through the ASRT Foundation.

I encourage you to contact Keith Greer, ASRT Foundation development manager, at 800-444-2778, Ext. 1286, to learn how you can show your support for the profession.
