The ASRT Foundation has selected four ASRT members for its Travel Grant Award. Each recipient will receive up to $3,000 to attend an ASRT conference of their choice; the funds cover the registration fee for the conference plus travel and lodging for the recipients.
The 2024-25 Travel Grant Award recipients are:
Shelby Anderson, B.S., R.T.(T), is a radiation therapist at Texas Oncology in El Paso, Texas. Anderson will attend the ASRT Radiation Therapy Conference in conjunction with the American Society for Radiation Oncology Annual Meeting, Sept. 29-Oct. 1, 2024, in Washington, D.C. “I feel so thankful and ecstatic to be able to receive this award. I am excited to expand my knowledge and see the exciting new things that are available for us in this profession. I love hearing other therapists' presentations and being able to bring some knowledge back to my own clinic,” said Anderson.
Emma Kneeland, R.T.(R)(M)(VI), is a lead interventional radiology technologist at Allina Health in Minneapolis. Kneeland will attend the Radiologic Society of North America Annual Meeting, including ASRT@RSNA, Dec. 1-5, 2024, in Chicago. “I am very excited to attend the RSNA Annual Meeting. I have wanted to attend since I was a radiology student 27 years ago. I hope to gain an understanding about technological advances and industry standards for interventional radiology,” said Kneeland.
Richard Maxton, B.S., R.T.(T), is a lead radiation therapist at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. Maxton will attend the ASRT Radiation Therapy. Conference in conjunction with the ASTRO Annual Meeting, Sept. 29-Oct. 1, 2024, in Washington, D.C. “This will be my first opportunity to attend the RTC after more than 20 years in the field. I look forward to interacting with peers from across the country and seeing what new products and improvements vendors will bring,” said Maxton.
Jacqueline Warren, B.S.M.I., R.T.(R)(CT), is a radiology clinical performance specialist at Bayer. Warren will attend the Radiologic Society of North America Annual Meeting, including ASRT@RSNA, Dec. 1-5, 2024, in Chicago. “I am deeply grateful to the ASRT for the travel grant, which provides an invaluable opportunity to enhance my knowledge into artificial intelligence in medical imaging, network with industry peers and contribute to the advancement of medical imaging,” said Warren.
