More than 50 industry leaders attended the ASRT Foundation 26th annual Corporate Roundtable Summit in Tuscon, Arizona, April 29-May 1, to collaboratively address issues that influence the direction of the radiologic science profession.
Attendees and supporters included, the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Accuray, Carestream Health, Clover Learning, Elekta, GE HealthCare, Hologic, MIC, RadNet, Siemens Healthineers, SkinCure Oncology and Varian.
The three-day event featured a variety of discussions and presentations. From Hologic, Director of Clinical Services and Strategic Partnerships Kim Larkin, and Senior Clinical Services Managers Patty Ayala, R.T.(R)(M), and Susan Campbell, R.T.(R)(M), presented “Workplace Culture and Attracting Top Talent.” Lindsay Russell, Ph.D., senior learning experience design manager of Varian presented “Creating a Culturally Responsive Team,” and Michelle Branson, clinical education manager at GE HealthCare, presented “Vendor Credentialing 2.0." The Corporate Roundtable Future of the Profession Corporate Working Group, formed after the Consensus Committee on the Future of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, offered “The Future of the Profession,” presented by ASRT Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Melissa Pergola, Ed.D., R.T.(R)(M), FASRT, CAE.
“This summit gives the medical imaging and radiation therapy community a chance to collaborate with our industry partners in a meaningful way to ensure that our collective work is in step with our efforts to benefit the radiologic science profession,” said Steven Hardy, M.S., R.T.(R)(T)(CT), CMD, chief operating officer for the ASRT Foundation and executive vice president of development and corporate relations.
The discussions at the Corporate Roundtable often spark new initiatives that are then implemented alongside industry leaders. The sponsors that participate in the event commit to a certain Foundation donation level. The Foundation uses those funds to further its mission to support and empower medical imaging and radiation therapy students and professionals as they pursue opportunities to positively impact patients.
