Six ASRT members were awarded the Hologic Mammography Scholarship totaling more than $17,000. The 2025 scholarship recipients are Katelynn Kapler, B.S., R.T.(R), from Oakland, California; Heather Eisenmenger, R.T.(R)(CT), from Greenwood, Indiana; Cynthia Martin, R.T.(R), from Halifax, Massachusetts; Laura Moody-Sisk, R.T.(R)(VI), from Glen Burnie, Maryland; Morgan Nieman, R.T.(R)(CT), from Pierre, South Dakota; and Janelle Wireman, R.T.(R)(CT), from Kenton, Ohio.

The ASRT Foundation has partnered with Hologic to provide the Hologic Mammography Scholarship. The goal is to provide financial support to radiographers pursuing the educational or clinical requirements to become eligible for the mammography certification exam. This year, the priority was to support members who completed the didactic requirements for mammography certification but were in need of clinical site placement. The scholarship provides recipients financial assistance for education, travel, if needed, and may offer a proctor if the clinical site is unable to provide one.

“Based on customer concerns about the shortage of mammographers entering the profession, together with the ASRT Foundation, we are funding this scholarship to help remove barriers for technologists pursuing certification in mammography,” said Kim Larkin, director of clinical services and strategic partnerships for Hologic.

Hologic develops medical technologies that detect, diagnose and treat health conditions. They are primarily focused on women's health and their goal is to provide all women access to the technologies they develop.
