The ASRT Foundation Scholarship Review Committee has selected Alexandra Toth, a radiography student at Indiana University South Bend, as the recipient of the Weber State University School of Radiologic Sciences Student Global Engagement Scholarship. Toth will be awarded $1,500 to travel to Germany Oct. 17-26, 2024.

“My passion for studying abroad developed from my desire to learn firsthand how health care systems across the world compare to the United States. As I near the end of my education, I will be seeking an employment opportunity and this study abroad trip will assist me in developing my teamwork skills such as communication, adaptability and a cross-cultural understanding,” said Roth, who anticipates graduating in May 2025.

The scholarship provides funding to entry-level students participating in a study abroad program as part of their radiologic technology education curriculum. The funds help offset costs such as airfare, housing and fees.

The Weber State University School of Radiologic Sciences, located in Utah, created the Student Global Engagement Scholarship to help provide students studying abroad unique academic and life experiences, enhancing the value of their education, building cultural competency and laying the foundation to become responsible world citizens.
